Create a New Heirloom Quilt

Heirloom does not always connote an antique--something treasured within a family passed down to the descendants becomes an antique over time. But initially that special treasure is new--and it has to gain status as heirloom, either because of the value of the object itself and/or because the object was owned and used by someone special. Unlike a "hand-me-down,"  an heirloom moves to designated descendants in the family as a treasured gift, and it takes on new life, as well as holds memories. each time it changes hands.

Think now of the possibilites of a framed quilt as an heirloom. The frameable can be created especially, for instance, for your expected son or daughter, grandson or granddaugther, niece or nephew, even before birth. It can hang in the child's nursery and grow in sentiment and value because the child does not "outgrow" this image. A framed quilt in mauves and pinks is as beautiful in a teen's room as in a nursery, and it can hang in the dorm room and then living room of the first apartment as that young person  matures. Ultimately, it moves again to the nursery as that long-ago child becomes a parent: and so a family heirloom is intentionally created. Think of a frameable in colors: the colors of lollipops or popsicles, not the image--the colors of chocolate/mocha bears, not the image. And so the picture of "the little red wagon" that was so cute in the room of an elementary school-aged child must be packed away or given to Goodwill, but not a frameable in fire-engine reds. Have me to create a custom-made frameable for you! Or you can custom-order a beautiful quilt by using the order-form on this website. See sample frameables in the Photo Gallery link on this website.

To save shipping costs, and to personalize your hierloom frameable even more, order your custom-made frameable without a frame and select the matting and frame yourself locally. A Frameable can be created in any size tand color pallete that you choose. If you have any questions please use the contact me link on my website.
